One of the most important things you need to do to be successful in MLM is
honesty. Many people will run and scream in the other direction when they
know that someone who is selling a MLM product is in the vicinity. This is
because many people have been subjected to unscrupulous individuals
selling products that are not worth pennies.

In order to be successful in MLM, you have to be honest with both the
people you are recruiting as well as the individuals you are selling products
to. Most people do not want anything to do with someone they feel they
cannot trust.

There are several steps you can take to ensure that others see you are
genuine and sincere:

• Don’t make false promises. If you are trying to recruit other individuals onto
your MLM team explain the opportunity in detail to them. Don’t suggest that
they’ll make hundreds of thousands of dollars within six months if you know
that’s not the truth. If you are straightforward with them from the start they
will feel comfortable becoming involved with the company.

• The same can be said for your potential customers. Do not promise them
that the product you are selling to them will do things it can’t. They will soon
discover this and will find it hard to believe anything else you say.

You also want to be likable. People who are genuinely friendly are much
more successful in MLM than those that are not. The key to your success in
MLM comes from how you deal with others. If you are approachable and
likable, people will naturally be drawn to you.

Communication is certainly one of the most important aspects when it comes
to being successful in MLM. You not only have to keep the lines of
communication open with your clients but with those you are recruiting as
well.

There are methods you can incorporate into your daily routine that will
encourage constant communication. These include:

• Make a point of calling your customers. Many people who are involved with
MLM cater to their customers after the sale is complete. You can earn the
trust of your customers if you contact them several days after the sale to see
how they are enjoying the product. They will welcome your attention and
think of you the next time they are on the market for a product you sell.

• Call or e-mail your recruits. Those who are new to MLM need constant
encouragement. Make sure those you have recruited understand that you
are just a phone call or an e-mail away. They may need guidance and you
want to ensure they know they can come to you for it.

You can be successful in MLM if you take the time to pay special attention to
both your customers and your recruits. Treat them as friends and they’ll
remember that.
